The student ID card is a mandatory part of their daily school uniform.  In the event that your student forgets or misplaces their ID card, they may obtain a temporary ID pass (“Pink Slip”) for the sole purpose of having lunch.  Multiple violations may result in lunch detention and a possible referral.  You may be contacted by a Vice-Principal to attend a conference to see if this issue can be resolved.  If the ID is lost, a replacement ID must be purchased. A replacement ID can be purchased for a $5.00 fee.  We are able to deduct that amount from your students’ lunch account with your verbal or written permission, provided there is an appropriate balance in their account.  It is your responsibility to ensure your student has enough money in their account to cover this cost should the need arise.  Payments for IDs are accepted in cash or checks made out to “Niu Valley Middle School.”  IDs are mandatory to attend school field trips.  If your student has lost their ID, they should purchase a new one prior to that date.  Without their ID, your student will be asked to remain in school on that day and you may not be eligible to receive a refund from an unattended field trip.  Students may purchase replacement IDs in the Office, Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00am-1:00pm.
