IB MIDDLE YEARS PROGRAM (MYP)

At Niu Valley Middle School, we encourage students to actively look for the connections between traditional subjects and the real world.

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is designed to help students in grades 6-8 to become critical and reflective thinkers, and find a sense of belonging in the world’s shifting landscape.

The Eight Subject Groups

The MYP consists of eight subject groups:

Language Acquisition, Language and Literature, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, Physical and Health Education, and Design.

In their final year, students will also undertake an independent personal project to demonstrate the development of their skills and understanding.
