Welcome to Niu Valley Middle School!

The Niu Valley Middle School Team is committed to providing a safe and academically challenging environment where students grow as innovative thinkers, intellectual risk-takers, creative problem solvers, and inspired learners.

During the middle school years, children find themselves at an important crossroad with unique developmental needs (social, emotional, and cognitive). Our school plays an important role in guiding students to make positive and productive choices.

In preparing for this important task, each teacher creates a personal passion statement related to his/her subject area and ties this passion to instruction that students apply in and out of the classroom.

It is our hope that this practice will ignite in each student the love for learning that will propel his/her achievement in high school, college, and beyond.

I am so grateful to have this opportunity to broaden my administrative experiences and work with the wonderful Niu Valley community.

About the Principal

Laura Ahn is Principal/Head of School at Niu Valley Middle School.

Prior to joining Niu Valley in October 2018 as Principal, she was at Kalihi Uka Elementary School where she was the principal for eight years.  They were recently recognized as a Blue Ribbon School.
