This program celebrates creative teens locally and nationally with awards, exhibitions, publications, and scholarships. Two of NVMS Art Teacher Amanda Kim’s students, Jordan J. and Amanda Y., were Gold Key nominees at the regional level for Scholastic Arts. Amanda Y placed 2 Gold Keys for both of her 2D pieces and Jordan J placed a Gold key for her 3D work. Their artworks are in The Hawaii State Art Museum. HiSAM is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. It is the 59th Annual Hawaii Regional Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition and will be shown from Friday, February 18, 2022 to Saturday, March 12, 2022. They are now eligible for the national-level competition. Each year there are about 300,000 works submitted nationwide and only about 400-500 are selected to be exhibited in New York City. Let’s wait and see if they make it!
