Pedestrian Safety:
NVMS students were seen running across Kalanianaole Highway when it was already a red light and cars had to come to a screeching halt and nearly missed hitting them and other vehicles. One of our teachers witnessed this dangerous behavior. This was not the first time students have been observed running against the light and/or jaywalking. Please share this with your child(ren) and remind them about being safe for themselves and others.
Road Concerns (Speeding in our neighborhood):
Neighbors have observed cars speeding on Haleola Street, especially in the afternoon at pick up times. Please be mindful of others on our streets – other cars and pedestrians – and keep it safe!
Please Remind Your Children:
- Use crosswalks at all times
- Not to use skateboards on the street
- Pay attention to cars – no texting while walking
- Avoid running in the streets
- Be safe!
