Our students will be participating in the Hawaii Smarter Balanced Assessments on Tuesday, April 30, Thursday, May 2, and Friday, May 3. There will be a special bell schedule that week to accommodate the testing that will take place from 8:00am-10:00am in advisory. Students will need their laptops, a pencil, and corded earbuds to take the test. Please support your child’s success by helping them arrive to school on time with the necessary supplies. A good night’s sleep and a nourishing breakfast are also important for a positive testing day. The results of this annual, standardized test will be shared at the beginning of the year.
The Smarter Balanced website for families is a helpful resource. We encourage you to talk about the test with your student(s). There are practice and training tests that can be done online at home to prepare students for testing.
