We have been made aware of a confirmed COVID-19 case involving an individual in our school community. This notification occurred during a Koko Head Elementary Google Hangouts Meet classroom session and was confirmed by the Hawaii Department of Health (DOH).
In order to avoid any potential Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and/or Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) violations, all notifications about this case to those who might be potentially impacted will be done by DOH. However, since our school has been closed to the public since March 16, neither the individual or the individual’s contacts have been on campus since then.
