Message from Art Teacher Mr. Jeff Tam:
This year all 6th grade students will be making paper mache dog sculptures. The unit, Man’s Best Friend, teaches young artists about empathy, care, and animal rights. To make a real world connection, we have partnered with The Public Pet, an urban pet store in Kaimuki. We are planning to have an art opening on Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 10:00am-12:00pm. Proceeds will benefit Paws of Hawaii, a nonprofit, animal rescue organization. Any unsold pieces will be displayed until April 25, 2020. If you are interested in pre-purchasing your child’s work, would like to provide pupus for this event, or have any questions, please contact jeff.tam@k12.hi.us. This event is open to the public so please tell your friends and family. Pets are welcome!
