It is about this time of year when we are visited by individuals handing out religious materials to our students on the sidewalks during morning drop-off. We want to inform you that this group has no affiliation with Niu Valley Middle School and is not sponsored or endorsed by the State of Hawaii Department of Education (HIDOE). The safety and security of our students and adults on campus are our top priorities. As a result, our school administration will immediately address the situation by talking with these individuals and monitoring their behaviors. Individuals associated with the religious group will be directed to remain on the public sidewalks. Please also caution your child if they are approached by a stranger handing out free materials, and how they should refuse or accept what’s given to them. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Principal, Mr. Jeff Shitaoka.
