Earlier this year, NVMS was approached by a movie production company asking if they could use our school as a site for an upcoming feature movie. The scouting team loved the Mayan statues fronting Halemaumau Street and wanted to include it in their film as well as one of our classrooms.
The set up for filming will begin on Saturday, October 31st with crew members preparing the areas on campus for filming. This will greatly impact our drop off and pick up on Wednesday, November 4th, the day after the Election Day Holiday. Due to the congestion from film crew and possible onlookers, we strongly advise you to use Kanau Street for Drop Off and Pick up on that day.
Here is some info regarding the filming taking place starting on 10/31 (SAT) – 11/07 (SAT):
-
Film crew will prep on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday so neighbors may see trucks parked in and around our school.
-
They will be working from 7AM-8PM.
-
Neighbor disruption/inconvenience will be mostly on Wednesday, Nov 4th since they will be filming by the Mayan statues. This may include more traffic than normal on Halemaumau Street and Kanau Street.
Our nearby neighbors have been informed of this filming taking place and have been encouraged to avoid the area. We appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns, please call VP Michael Takemoto in our main office at 808 307-6800.
