Message from Art Teacher, Mr. Jeff Tam:

This year in Grade 6 Art, all students will be making paper mache’ dog sculptures.  The Unit, “Man’s Best Friend”, teaches young artists about empathy, care, and animal rights.  To make a real world connection, we have partnered with Public Pet, at 3422 Waialae Avenue, an urban pet supply store in Kaimuki, to have an Art Exhibit/Fundraiser.  We are planning to sell our sculptures, which will include an opening ceremony, “Paws for a Cause” on Saturday, March 30, 2019, from 10:00am – 12:00noon.  Sales will continue  until closing at 6:00pm.  Proceeds will be going to the Paws of Hawaii.  Any unsold pieces will be displayed and open to sale till the end of April at Public Pet.  I will not be able to include every student’s work because of space restrictions.  If you have any questions, please fee free to email Jeff_Tam@notes.k12.hi.us.
