We had eight Niu Valley students participate in the Middle School Solo & Ensemble which was held on January 28, 2018 at the University of Hawaii at Manoa Music Department. The event is sponsored by the Oahu Band Director’s Association (OBDA). Although not a competition, students still received scores and written/verbal feedback from well respected adjudicators. Students received medals if they earned enough points. Our Music Teacher, Mr. Morita, is pleased to share that all eight of our students worked hard and received a medal (color indicates difficulty: bronze=beginner, silver=intermediate, gold=advanced) AND the highest ribbon possible (blud=scoring 90% or higher, red+75-89%).
