Attention parents and guardians: Students are scheduled to return to school on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Please visit NiuValleyMiddle.org for updates regarding the school closure and distance learning opportunities. Teachers offering distance learning will be posting on Google Classroom, please have your child check Google Classroom anytime after 8am on March 30 to access these learning opportunities.
Additionally, students have the opportunity to engage in iReady Instruction to support their reading and math skills. iReady Instruction is an online program that offers lessons specifically targeted to your child’s needs and reading/math level based on a diagnostic test all students took in August 2019 and December 2019. The online lessons range from 20-40 minutes and offer an opportunity for your child to continue their reading and math progress. Here is a link to instructions on how to get your child started.
For students who do not have a home computer or WiFi to use for distance learning please leave a message for Principal Ahn at 377-2440 ext. 234 by Tuesday, March 24, 12:00noon.
For students without internet access, both Spectrum and Hawaiian Telcom are offering free internet services for households with k-12 and/or college students:
• Spectrum Broadband
Charter Communications is offering free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any service level up to 100 Mbps.
• Hawaiian Telcom
Hawaiian Telcom is offering free internet services for two (2) months to households with K-12 and/or college students who currently do not subscribe to Hawaiian Telcom Internet service.
