Math

The Math department of Niu Valley strives to use math as a tool to empower students as global citizens. Mathematically global citizens will learn how to persevere through times of crises, communicate effectively during collaboration opportunities, and further develop the confidence in one’s self to do good in our world.

English Language Arts

Learn it. Love it. Live it.

Science

Empowering students to use science to positively influence the global community with compassion, self-reliance, and critical thinking.

Humanities/Social Studies

Learning to make a difference.

Music

Music allows people to express themselves in a unique way, because they are required to conform to specific rules (e.g. rhythm, style), yet add their individual interpretation and nuances. It requires people to utilize both segments of their brain: the left, or logical side, and the right, or creative side.

Art

Art is a vehicle to discover who we are. It is infused in our culture and history. By providing meaningful projects, students can develop art literacy to participate and make an impact in our world.

World Language

Learning another language is a life-changing experience that deepens the understanding of oneself and one’s own culture. It fosters open-mindedness, which empowers one to appreciate other cultural perspectives, and increases a global understanding in a global society.

Physical Education

Developing character, knowledge, and pride to empower student’s drive to live a healthy lifestyle.

Counseling

The Counseling Department of Niu Valley strives for students to know what they have and share it. Students will recognize their individual strengths and how the collaboration and sharing of these strengths can positively impact others and the world.
